1. Information We Collect
When you post a sale on FindTreasures, we collect: your name or sale title, street address, sale dates and times, item categories, and a contact method (phone number or email address) used solely to deliver your edit link. We do not create user accounts or store passwords. Buyers who browse the map do not need to provide any information.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your contact information is used only to send you a single magic link that allows you to edit or delete your listing. It is never displayed publicly, never sold to third parties, and never used for marketing purposes. Your sale address and dates are displayed publicly on the map so buyers can find you.
3. Automatic Data Deletion
FindTreasures automatically scrubs personal information from our systems after your sale ends. Contact details (phone number or email address) are permanently deleted within 24 hours of your sale end time. Sale location data (address, coordinates, categories) is retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes only — it cannot be linked back to you.
4. Photos
Photos you upload are stored securely on Amazon Web Services S3. They are displayed publicly as part of your listing. Photos are automatically deleted from our servers after your sale ends as part of our weekly cleanup process.
5. Payments
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. FindTreasures never sees or stores your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy. We store only a payment confirmation reference for accounting purposes.
6. Cookies and Tracking
FindTreasures does not use advertising cookies or track users across websites. We use Mapbox for map rendering (subject to Mapbox's privacy policy) and may collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the service.
7. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Personal information is encrypted at rest. We use AWS infrastructure with industry-standard security practices. Access to personal data is restricted to essential personnel only.
8. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your listing and associated data at any time using the magic link sent to you when you posted your sale. If you have additional privacy requests, contact us at hello@findtreasures.org.
9. Children's Privacy
FindTreasures is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of FindTreasures after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
